Check your Insurance Eligibility for Prenatal, Birth, & Postpartum
Have Medi-Cal or another Insurance that covers doulas?
Your prenatal and postpartum services may be covered by your insurance. If your county uses another insurance provider and you’d like to work together, let me know, and I may be able to subcontract with them. And if you are out-of-area, or already working with another doula for birth, but there are specialties I offer prenatal and postpartum you’d like to utilize, you can use a couple doulas during your journey.
Insurance I Accept:
Partnership Health Plan of California (Medi-Cal)
Health Net
Central California Alliance for Health
Alameda Alliance for Health
Anthem Blue Cross (Medi-Cal plans or any plans that cover doulas)
San Joaquin Health Plan
Kaiser Permanente (Medi-Cal and Commercial plans)
Western Health Advantage
BSC Promise Health Plan in San Diego and LA (Medi-Cal) - can accept telehealth clients, or if you occasionally travel here we can do in person sessions
San Francisco HealthPlan
Any health plan that reimburses for Doulas - we can do private pay then I’ll provide an invoice you can give to your insurance company for reimbursement. BlueShield of CA only covers rarely and usually reimburses a partial amount if they do.
FSA or HSA accounts that cover doula
Carrot Employee Health Benefits
Via Raya Health (a Doula group, who will be our sort of concierge, but you’ll get private support from my practice), I can accept:
CalOptima (virtual only)
Mountain Valley HealthPlan
LA Care Healthplan (virtual only)
Community Healthplan of Imperial Valley
CalViva Cares Health (virtual only)
Healthplan of San Mateo
Gold Coast Healthplan (virtual only)
IEHP (virtual only)
Sharp Healthplan (virtual only)
Sessions & Support Options:
I offer a range of support to meet you where you are — physically, emotionally, and logistically.
In-person sessions are available at my Nevada City, CA office for:
Prenatal support
Postpartum support, Recovery, Functional Hormonal medicine for hormone healing and PPD, lactation education
Pregnancy Loss support
I also offer In-home visits for postpartum support, and occasionally for prenatal care depending on your location (within a certain radius)—depending on your needs. If you're located within an hour of Nevada City, CA, I may be able to travel to you for in-home visits depending on my current availability and roster of postpartum clients. If you're outside that area, you're always welcome to come to my office for care. For birth, I have limited spaces typically for home births near Nevada City, please inquire (I also team up with doulas, so I can still support you prenatally and postpartum if I’m not able to provide labor support directly).
For added flexibility, I also offer virtual sessions for both prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. These are especially useful for reviewing resources, creating your birth plan, practicing comfort measures, teaching postpartum recovery, functional medicine, and going over intake forms. Many clients find virtual sessions to be a convenient and supportive way to prepare for birth. Often times, we will do these prenatal and between in person postpartums.
If you prefer to receive all your care virtually, we can absolutely make that work! These sessions include guidance on comfort measures, labor preparation, self-massage techniques, partner support strategies, postpartum healing, nutrition, and functional medicine consulting.
If you’re interested in working together or would like to confirm insurance, call or fill out the form.
