Now Accepting Insurance for Prenatal & Postpartum

Have Medi-Cal or another Insurance that covers doulas?

Your prenatal and postpartum services may be covered by your insurance. If your county uses another insurance provider and you’d like to work together, let me know, and I may be able to subcontract with them.

What’s covered by Medi-Cal insurance:

  • 1 90-min Prenatal Visit

  • 8 regular shorter visits (prenatal or postpartum) - these can be used up to 12 months postpartum

  • Option to request 9 more regular visits

  • Support for your Labor

  • 2 Longer Postpartum Visits

Insurance I Accept:

  • Partnership Health Plan of California (Medi-Cal)

  • Health Net

  • Central California Alliance for Health

  • Alameda Alliance for Health

  • Anthem Blue Cross (Medi-Cal plans or any plans that cover doulas)

  • San Joaquin Health Plan

  • Kaiser Permanente (Medi-Cal and Commercial plans)

  • Western Health Advantage (for virtual sessions only or in office sessions, typically no travel to the home available)

  • BSC Promise Health Plan in San Diego and LA (Medi-Cal) - can accept telehealth clients, or if you occasionally travel here we can do in person sessions

  • Any health plan that reimburses for Doulas - we can do private pay then I’ll provide an invoice you can give to your insurance company for reimbursement

  • FSA or HSA accounts that cover doula

Sessions & Support Options:

I offer a range of support to meet you where you are — physically, emotionally, and logistically.

In-person sessions are available at my Nevada City, CA office for:

  • Prenatal support

  • Postpartum support

  • Pregnancy Loss support

I also offer In-home visits for postpartum support, and occasionally for prenatal care depending on your location (within a certain radius)—depending on your needs. If you're located within an hour of Nevada City, CA, I may be able to travel to you for in-home visits depending on my current availability and roster of postpartum clients. If you're outside that area, you're always welcome to come to my office for care.

For added flexibility, I also offer virtual sessions for both prenatal and postpartum care. These are especially useful for reviewing resources, creating your birth plan, and going over intake forms. Many clients find virtual sessions to be a convenient and supportive way to prepare for birth. Often times, we will do these prenatal and between in person postpartums.

If you prefer to receive all your care virtually, we can absolutely make that work! These sessions include guidance on comfort measures, labor preparation, self-massage techniques, partner support strategies, postpartum healing, nutrition, and functional medicine consulting.

If you’re interested in working together or would like to confirm insurance, call or fill out the form.
